A Financial Inclusion Champion is someone who has the tools and skills to engage with people in the community to support them to become more financially included.
Financial Inclusion is a complex issue and has many different aspects. This course provides guidance, tools and referral pathways to enable Champions to understand and identify people who are financially excluded and how to support them to become more financially included.
This course will cover 5 core elements as shown in the above diagram.
At a basic level many people do not have their own bank account. They don't know how to manage their money on a day to day basis. A chaotic lifestyle may make the most basic of tasks seem unsurmountable.
In any improvement process getting a benchmark of the current situation is key to understanding what needs to be done and what the priorities are. An accurate record of all Income and Outgoings is a good place to start.
Unmanageable / unaffordable debt causes stress and worry. It eats in to available income leaving people struggling to cope.
Maximising income can support people to become more able to afford life's necessities.
Knowing where to go for the right support to the issues we face and be comfortable and confident in doing so, will get us on the right path.
